Katie Lovell (left) had her picture circulated via the Internet for the last week. The picture (of unknown origin) was circulated and reported to be Kobe's accuser. KATIE LOVELL is NOT the girl [accuser].

The family of Katie Lovell has asked that it be made very clear that she (Katie) was not involved. Katie herself reported on MSNBC that she only casually know the accuser from a couple of classes in high school.

Katie's mother (and attorney) reported earlier that money was not of concern -- that they only want to clear Katie's name and association with this case and relieve the undue pressure being put on her [Katie Lovell].

Katie Lovell came across on her TV interviews as a very sweet and bright girl -- one who will get past all the undue publicity and succeed in life. She is very well spoken and (from her TV appearances) seems well grounded.

Our best wishes to Katie [Lovell] -- may this brief publicity mishap serve to help her further and accelerate her success.
